- Communication support via satellite telephone
- Services of Stay Upright guides
- 4WD support vehicle and one spare motorcycle
- All necessary permits, including entry fees to National Parks as appropriate
TOUR COSTS DO NOT INCLUDE
- Land transfer at the end of the tour to the Cairns Airport terminal
- Hotel/motel accommodation and optional restaurant meals (see next section)
- Return airfares to and from home city
- Tours and sight seeing costs unless indicated on the itinerary
- Alcohol, telephone calls and items of a personal nature
- Fuel for tag along riders (we will carry your fuel)
HOTEL/MOTEL ACCOMMODATION AND RESTAURANT MEALS
We keep our tour rates low by excluding the cost of hotel/motel tariffs and restaurant meals before and after the tour. This enables clients to select options best suited to their own taste and budget. We can assist with advice or hotel/motel accommodation bookings.
CLOTHING AND WHAT TO BRING
- Protective clothing – riding boots, pants, jersey, gloves, eye protection. Appropriate protective riding gear is included in the tour price if you do not have your own
- A minimum of casual clothing, walking shoes, swimmers, sun hat or cap, towel
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent, camera, film, toilet requisites, any medication.
DEPOSITS
A 10% deposit is required with your reservation. Final payment must be made not later than 30 days prior to departure. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
ITINERARIES
Itineraries are subject to alteration without notice. This could be due to changes in road or weather conditions. A minimum number of bookings are required in order for a tour to be financially viable and to have a pleasant group atmosphere. In the event that adequate numbers cannot be achieved, it may be necessary to cancel a scheduled departure and to offer the nearest possible alternative date (or, of course, a full refund of monies paid). Max 6 clients on tours.
CANCELLATIONS
If you have to cancel your Tour for whatever reason, you should contact us as soon as possible.
SCALE OF CANCELLATION FEES
More than 30 days prior to departure - $50 administration fee.
7 to 29 days prior to departure – 20% of tour price
Within 7 days of departure – 100% of tour price
If tour has already commenced, no unused portion.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend participants take out travel insurance to cover any unforseen circumstances that may arise (including cancellation fees, medical and curtailment expenses, loss of luggage, early departure from a tour due to illness of self or immediate family etc) A brochure is available upon request or from any travel agent.
RIDING GEAR
The riding gear included in the cost of your tour is of extremely good quality, well maintained, and updated regularly. We provide equipment from Alpine Stars, Fox, Spy, Camelbak, and Shift.
FIRST AID
Our tour leaders and support crew are trained in First Aid and hold current First Aid certificates.
All tour leaders and back-up riders carry Remote First Aid kits at all times on their motorcycle and our support vehicles carry a Royal Flying Doctor Medicine Chest allowing us to provide the very best in First Aid treatment in remote locations.
Our satellite phones ensure we can contact the Royal Flying Doctor Service for advice and assistance in any location for any emergency.
