Cairns - Cooktown – Lotus bird lodge - Cairns
Approx 1000kms (Sealed 475km/Gravel 525km)
DAY 1 | Distance approx 220km
You are collected from your accommodation and taken to our centre at Smithfield. After a short briefing and getting acquainted with the fleet of motorcycles, we head off north along the scenic Captain Cook Highway. Lunch is at P.K.’s Resort. After lunch we head off up the Bloomfield Track to the historic Lions Den Hotel, then onto Cooktown. There is plenty of time for photos at both the Black Mountain and Grassy Hill Lookouts. Our accommodation in Cooktown is at the Sovereign Hotel where we will indulge in a 3 course meal.

DAY 2 | Distance approx 320kms
After a big hearty breakfast we head off at 8.00am for Lakeland about 82kms from Cooktown. After refuelling we head outback about 140kms on the Peninsula Development Road to Hahn River Roadhouse where we have lunch. We then ride onto Lotus Bird Lodge for our second night of luxury in the outback. If time permits there is a chance to explore the area further and try to spot a croc or two.

DAY 3 | Distance approx 460kms
After breakfast we head off about 8.30am and travel through Musgrave, Hahn River and Lakeland. We then travel south on the Peninsula Development Road (sealed) to Palmer River Roadhouse for lunch. After lunch we head off south to Mt. Molloy where we have plenty of time for photo stops, sweeping corners and mountain ranges. We then travel back to the coast via the Rex Range to our base in Cairns via the Captain Cook Highway where you will be taken back to your accommodation.
